Sponsored projects
 
The department has undertaken a Nationally coordinated Project titled “E-Drive Automated Vehicle for disabled & multi robot” which has been sponsored by AICTE . The cost of the project Rs. 16,50,000 was sanctioned for the same.

The department has also organized a training programme for the Self Help Group which was sponsored by the Anna University.

The project of the students Ms.R. Aarthi and Ms.G.Swathi , titled “Mobline” , was sponsored by the State Council Of Tamil Nadu under the student project scheme, during the academic year 2009-2010.

The project of the students Mr.. L.Srinivasa Varadhan, Mr. Chandramouli and Mani Prasanna , titled “7 th sense – A Virtual Keyboard for Disabled” , was sponsored by the State Council Of Tamil Nadu under the student project scheme, during the academic year 2008-2009.
Sponsored Programme
The department has been selected to conduct a national seminar on “Research Methodologies in next generation wireless networks using opnet” by the Ministry of Communication and information technology, Government of India .
 
Staff Development Programme
 
 

The department has organized an AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Programme on “MOBILE NETWORKS” from 19.1.09 to 30.01.09. A total of 50 participants from various engineering colleges have attended this programme and this was a grand success. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.Padmanabhan Ramasamy, Research Head-3G, Motorola Polar Research Lab, Bangalore. The Theory and Practical sessions were taken by the eminent personalities from reputed institutions.

The department has conducted a Faculty Development Programme on “Graphics and Multimedia” during 11th–23rd June, 2007.A total of 25 participants attended the programme from various colleges.
 
International conference
 
The departments of Information technology, computer science and Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an international conference ICICT ’09, Innovative computing on information and communication technology, from 16.12.09 to 18.12.09. The conference was a great success with papers on various topics from different parts of the world.

National Conference

The department organized a National Conference on “Distributed Systems and Knowledge Engineering"(NCDK’05) held on 16 & 17 September,2005.A total of 20 papers were selected and presented by the participants.
