Summer Fellowship Programmes (By Indian Academy of Sciences)  
   
Mr.R.Aravindh has undergone a Summer Research Fellowship Programme organized by Indian Academy of Sciences for 2 Months under the guidance of Prof.R.K.Shyamasundar, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research at Mumbai during 28.5.11 – 22.7.11. He paid a fellowship of Rs.6, 000/- per month.

Mr.M.Yogees Kumar of 2011 batch has been awarded the BEST STUDENT by TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES in recognition of the academic excellence for the academic year 2010- 2011.

Mr.M.Yogees Kumar & Mr.T.Theepan of IV yr IT receiving a Cash Award of Rs.75,000/- for their project "Multipurpose Robot for Defense Ministry". Their project has been awarded FIRST PRIZE in Velammal Silver Jubliee Science "UTSAV" - (A National Level Science Exhibition 2010) among 500 projects displayed in all India Level.

Mr.J.Dinesh Singh's project titled "ASTHRA – An Automated Robotic Vehicle for the Disabled Patients using Embedded Systems" was awarded FIRST PRIZE in the Innovative Student Projects Award - 2009 conducted by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Newdelhi.

Mr.R.Natarajan of 2009 batch has been awarded the DESERVING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP by Lions Club in recognition of the academic and co curricular excellence and received a cash award of Rs.25,000/-  
   
Innovative Project (E-TOUCH)  
 
   
Two of our 2008 batch students have won numerous prizes for their paper titled "E-Touch – A Hardware Keyboard for Visually Impaired" from reputed institutions including IIT Kanpur, Anna University and in various National and International conferences etc.,  
   
Arrow Mr.S.Sivaraman has presented the paper E-Touch in the 2007 International Conference on Embedded Systems & Applications (ESA'07) conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (June 25th-28th 2007)
Arrow Mr.Sivaraman's paper titled "PRATYUG – the Total Security System" published in ATLANTIS PRESS JCIS 2006 proceedings on October 2006.ISBN:978-90-78677-01-7
 
   
Their project has been well recognized by the society. Their interviews about the project had broadcasted in various News Magazines and telecasted in Television Channels.

Mr.V.Vijayarangan & his group have won the FIRST PRIZE in the Innovative Students Project Award - 2004 for their project titled "INTELLBOT" conducted by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Delhi.

.A.V.Joshi Kumar, Mr.S.MohanRaj & Mr.T.Madhan Prabhu of 2012 batch presented a paper "A Pragmatic Approach to aid visually impaired people in reading, visualizing and understanding textual contents with an automatic electronic pen" in an International Conference on IEEE conducted by CSAE'11 at China, during 10 – 12th June 2011. The management has sponsored Rs.62,239/- for the same.
Mr.S.APARAJITH, Mr.M.L.NAARAYAN, Mr.S.VINODH of 2011 Batch has presented a paper titled "AEGIS TACITURN"- at THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL ACM CONFERENCE on UBIQUITOUS INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION (ICUIMC 2011) 21-23 FEBRUARY 2011, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA. The Management has sponsored Rs 51,915/-for the conference.
   
Mr.VAIIBHAV MUGUNDAN of 2009 Batch has presented a paper titled "HAILSTORM-A Revolutionary Method for data transfer" at THE 2008 WORLD CONGRESS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE (WORLDCOMP'08) at LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA 14 - 17 JULY 2008. The Management has sponsored Rs.56, 000/- for the same.

Arrow AICTE funded project on "Establishment of Video and Image Processing Lab" under the scheme MODROBS. Rs.6,00,000/- was sanctioned for the same.
Arrow AICTE funded Nationally Coordinated project on "E-Drive Automated Vehicle for disabled & multi robot". The cost of the project Rs.15,00,000/- was sanctioned for the same.
Arrow Sapthagiri Educational Trust (Management) funded project on "Automated Food Supply".

MOCIT sponsored National Seminar  
   
 
   
The department has conducted a National Level Seminar on "Research Methodologies in Next Generation Wireless Networks Using Opnet" during 19.8.10 to 21.8.10. The Seminar was sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. This Seminar received an overwhelming response from various engineering colleges and a total of 50 participants taken part in this Event.  
   
AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme  
   
 
The department has organized an AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Programme on “MOBILE NETWORKS” from 19.1.09 to 30.01.09. A total of 50 participants from various engineering colleges have attended this programme and this was a grand success. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.Padmanabhan Ramasamy, Research Head-3G, Motorola Polar Research Lab, Bangalore. The Theory and Practical sessions were taken by the eminent personalities from reputed institutions.

The departments of Information technology, computer science and Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an International Conference - ICICT '09, Innovative computing on information and communication technology, from 16.12.09 to 18.12.09. Rs.2,50,000/- was sponsored by AICTE for the same.The conference was a great success with papers on various topics from different parts of the world.
