The department of MCA conducted at Faculty Development Programme on Data Mining and Data Warehousing from 29/05/2006 & 03/06/2006.
The various sessions in this FDP are given below:

“Data Mining concepts” by Dr. Baskar from Anna University who spoke on “Association Rules – Algorithms”
“Cluster Analysis” - Dr. R. Srinivasan, Head, Department of Computer science, Crescent Engineering College, Chennai.

The departments of Master of Computer Applications conducted a STTP on Middle ware technologies on 5th and 6th April 2006.
The MCA department of Sri Sai Ram Engineering College is conducting a Short Term Training Programme on “Middleware Technologies” to be inaugurated by Mr. V. Balakrishnan, CIO, Polaris Software Labs Ltd., Chennai and the valedictory address will be delivered by Ms. Kalyani Narayanan, President & CEO, AllFon Systems LP, India. Students from various Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges are participating in this programme
The session on “CORBA – Middleware” and was presented by Ms. J. Vijayalakshmi, Senior Lecturer, Department of Computer Applications, SSEC. She gave an in depth view of the architecture of CORBA. Her session was found very useful to the students and the faculty members who participated in the Short Term Training Programme.
Mr. M. Kamalakannan, Principal Systems Analyst, National Informatics Centre, Beasant Nagar, Chennai presented a session on “World Wide Web and Middleware”. He described the basics of the working of World Wide Web and also the role of middleware.
The second day of the training programme was rather hectic and was filled with knowledge and experience of experts from academic and industries. The first session on 6th April 2006 was handled by Mr. S. P. Devarajan, Module Leader, American Megatrends India Pvt. Ltd., He spoke on “COM Technologies and Web Services”. He made the session very interactive and interesting to the delegates.
The session was followed by the presentation by Mr. Martin Mohanty, Senior Manager, IT, AREVA T&D India Limited. He gave a presentation on “Middleware- Current Business Scenario”. He demonstrated the use of middleware in using the mobile devices for effective communication.
The next session was on “JAVA- Middleware” presented by Ms. Anita, Training Division, NIIT, Ambattur. Her session was filled with knowledge and vital information for the students.
The last session was on “The Future of Middleware”; there was a spontaneous flow of knowledge from experienced professor, Mr. G. T. Manohar, (Retd.,) from IIT. His extempore speech awestruck the audience; His knowledge and experience was applauded by all the participants. |
